Luang Phor Chanai Tiger Amulet

A powerful double-sided tiger amulet from Luang Phor Chanai of Wat Sangkha Pridi, Khon Kaen, combining his seated portrait with a commanding sacred tiger and traditional yantra inscriptions.

Created in a warm gold-toned finish, the piece reflects the qualities most closely associated with Luang Phor Chanai’s tiger lineage: protection, courage, endurance, authority and the strength to overcome dangerous situations.

Front

The front presents a deeply raised portrait of Luang Phor Chanai, seated calmly in his robes and holding a sacred object at the centre of his body. The portrait is framed by an arched temple-style form, giving the face of the amulet a dignified and devotional appearance.

Thai and sacred inscriptions curve around the portrait, accompanied by smaller characters positioned within the surrounding field. Additional script appears across the lower platform beneath the seated figure.

The gold-toned surface brings out the detail of Luang Phor Chanai’s facial features, robes, hands and seated posture. His calm expression provides a strong contrast to the more forceful tiger imagery on the reverse.

Reverse

The reverse features a powerful raised tiger standing prominently at the centre. Its muscular body, pronounced stripes and commanding posture represent fearlessness, survival instinct and the authority of the tiger.

The tiger is surrounded by Khom characters, yantra formations and sacred inscriptions, carefully arranged across the gold-toned background. A larger yantra occupies the upper-left area, while additional sacred symbols frame the tiger on both sides.

Consecrated materials have also been placed inside the reverse of the case, including sections of saffron, white and red sacred cloth together with natural fibres. These details give the piece further character and a visible connection to its sacred preparation.

Meaning and symbolism

Within Luang Phor Chanai’s lineage, the tiger represents a person who remains strong under pressure and refuses to be overcome by fear or adversity. It carries the presence of an animal respected for its confidence, awareness and authority within its territory.

The upper section features additional tiger imagery surrounding a small seated Buddha emblem. A clear protective cover allows both the detailed metalwork and consecrated materials to remain fully visible while protecting the amulet during wear.
