Created to commemorate the auspicious 64th birthday of Luang Phor Chanai (Luang Phor Chinai Chantasaro) of Wat Sangkha Pridi, Khon Kaen, this new release is officially known as Suea 9 Chiwit — the Nine Lives Tiger
The name “Nine Lives Tiger” represents extraordinary resilience—the strength to survive hardship, recover after adversity and continue forward when others might fall. Rooted in LP Chanai’s celebrated tiger tradition, the design is traditionally associated with protection, courage, endurance, commanding presence and the ability to overcome dangerous or hostile situations. These are traditional devotional beliefs rather than guaranteed outcomes.
The Front: The obverse presents a raised portrait of Luang Phor Chanai seated in meditation, with a prowling tiger directly beneath him. This composition places the power and fearlessness of the tiger under the spiritual authority and discipline of the master, surrounded by ornate inscriptions commemorating the sacred issue and his 64th birthday.
The Back: The reverse carries the dramatic Nine Lives Tiger design, formed as an intricate gathering of tigers surrounded by sacred yantra characters and ritual weapon-like motifs. The imagery embodies layered protection, vigilance and survival from every direction. The lower section bears an individual issue number, adding collectable identity to the piece.
Case: rainbow-finished copper edition (nuea thong daeng phiu rung) displaying deep purple, bronze and iridescent tones as the light moves across its surface. It is housed inside a substantial clear protective cover with a custom black outer case. Metallic blue yantra-style detailing runs along both sides, complemented by silver ornamental flourishes, gold cloud accents and a gold tiger face with red eyes at the crown. The Thai title เสือ ๙ ชีวิต — “Nine Lives Tiger” is displayed across the base.
